Rhodes beauty spot. The village of Ialyssos is built on the site of the ancient town of Ialyssos and is sometimes known as Trianda.
Ialyssos village retains plenty of traditional Greek atmosphere and architecture, a fine church, a Byzantine monastery and ancient ruins with fantastic views. Ialyssos village is surrounded by hills, olive groves, citrus plantations and attractive little fields. It is a fine place to mix with the locals and get a taste of uncommercial Rhodes village life while sitting in the village centre tavernas.

The beach at Ialyssos faces a large open bay, with the clean Meltemi wind blowing cross onshore from the left. Inshore once clear of a moderate shorebreak, the conditions are perfect for slalom blasting, while on the outside the swell forms superb ramps. Typically the wind is a gentle 2-3 in the mornings, suiting the less experienced. In the afternoons, it can reach 5+ perfect for intermediates and above. There is a choice of windsurf centres offering Mistral at the Club Mistral Centre, F2 and JP at the Pro Centre Jurgen Niens. The location has excellent equipment and top quality facilities. Kitesurfing for all levels is now possible at a quieter area, 3kms away where the conditions are more suitable.
